Muhammad Sheriffdeen is a holder of a Master’s degree in Natural and Environmental Resource Management Science, achieved through the Developing Countries Partnership Scholarship at Institut Pertanian Bogor, Indonesia. He also holds a B.Sc. in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Additionally, he has completed various short courses such as Agriculture and Resilience to Natural Disasters at Ibaraki University, Japan, and Sustainable Finance, Climate Finance, and Green Investment at the Asian Development Bank Institute.

His academic focus encompasses international climate and environmental governance, climate finance, natural resource management, and climate-smart agriculture. With professional experience at PIAREA Environmental Consulting (Bogor, Indonesia) and Perspectives Climate Group (Freiburg, Germany), he possesses mid-level expertise in evaluating climate policies and programs, as well as climate finance.

He has actively participated in scientific conferences, publishing papers in highly ranked Scopus journals. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for the Scopus-indexed Biodiversitas Journal of Biological Diversity. Notably, he recently developed a pioneering framework that has been used in evaluating climate financing institutions in Indonesia and Brazil.

At GHI, he is mainly involved in supporting programmatic and business development. Drive results-oriented performance, prepare funding proposals, engage stakeholders for partnerships, conduct research, and collaborate with teams to achieve organizational goals, ensuring mission advancement.
